Well whaddya know. There is an organization called The Resource Alliance which is all about international fundraising – and they have a nifty list of fundraising organizations worldwide. Turns out Australia even has a fundraising magazine.
I’m contacting the orgs in Denmark and Australia, as well as the magazine, to see where that takes me. I’ve also emailed Kasper (the staff member whom Kristine said had worked with students with financial difficulties) and Cameron (president of the International Young Professionals Foundation) to see if they have any ideas.
Other websites to check out: IYPF’s Opportunities page, Skoll Foundation’s Opportunities page, TakingITGlobal’s Funding page, Idealist.org. Razoo, One-Net, Zaadz too?

One thing that might help is a one page pitch on your website – who are you, why do you desperately want to go to KP, why will it do you a ton of good, and how will you do a ton of good to the world with what you’ve learnt (be a bit specific, even though you obviously have no idea where you’ll go). As it is, this isn’t obvious for someone who hasn’t followed you through all your blogposts etc… Good chance to practice your elevator pitch

Just had another idea. Make a wacky video and put it on youtube. Make sure it is wacky enough / innovative enough / has enough weird music etc that people link to it. Make the pitch for why people should fund you (illustrated, not just talking head). THen you can do updates… In the end it can even turn into a documentary – sending Tiara to KP
(Get Danish national TV to sponsor you!

Oh, and if you do see Weng Diedie or Leslie Chan (doing a lot of workshops on open access to academic research) at GK3, grab a hold of them and tell them I sent you
Great people to meet and talk with. Wish I was there myself. Weng Diedie will be filming and interviewing people.
